arcon-dur safety glass (tempered safety glass and heat strengthened glass) ideally combines an attractive appearance, function and increased safety requirements.

The excellent properties of arcon-dur safety glass result from the special production process, the so-called heat shock process. The glass is heated to 650° C in just a few seconds and then chilled with cold air. This process creates a state of stress in the glass. The core of the pane is under tensile stress and the surface under compressive stress.

arcon-dur safety glass is therefore more highly resistant to heat, bending fractures, shocks and impact than normal float glass and is less dangerous (tempered safety glass forms grains when destroyed).

arcon-dur produces to national and European standards. Other tests and approvals exist, particularly for vehicle glazing.
